Our OUR STAFF

Dr. Yasquina Benjamin grew up in Batey Margarita and attended medical school in Dominican Republic.  She is committed to providing care to those who lack access to quality medical resources. She has a clinic in Margarita where she functions as a primary care physician. Dr. Benjamin is equipped with an ultrasound machine that is critical in women’s care as well as other diagnostics. Dr. Benjamin also visits many of the other villages in her region.  She lives in Batey Margarita with her husband, a schoolteacher, and three children.

Dr. Gavina Quinterio lives in Los Filios, a neighborhood in Consuelo, with her husband, a pastor and schoolteacher, and two children.  She attended medical school in Dominican Republic and is committed to providing medical care to those who do not otherwise have access to medical treatment.  Her clinic in Consuelo is next to her husband’s church.  She provides primary care and basic medications regardless of ability to pay.  She has had additional training in CPR and electrocardiogram interpretation.

JJ functions as Del Rey Medico’s administrator and translator.  He is fluent in both Spanish and English and is currently pursuing a degree in business administration.  He is a strong Christian and dedicated to the mission of Del Rey Medico.  He lives in Consuelo with his wife and son.

Yisi is Dr Benjamin’s nurse.  She is a Christian woman deeply committed to her faith and a life of service.  In addition to her nursing degree, she has studied English, venipuncture, pharmacology, effective communication, human relations, and public speaking.  Through Del Rey Medico, she helps provide medical care to those in need, offers educational talks and provides spiritual support. 

Wanda is Dr Quinterio’s nurse.  From a young age, she has felt a deep desire to help others, which led her to a career in nursing.  She is passionate about her work with Del Rey Medico because it allows her to be a source of well-being and hope for many people.  She lives in Consuelo.
